A meticulous observer and skilled painter\, Goetzman’s work bridges science and soul—rendering each feather and wing with both precision and wonder. Her influence echoes throughout this exhibition\, not only in her own featured works\, but in the ethos of attentiveness and care that guides the artists here. From detailed studies to expressive interpretations\, each piece in “Field Notes” represents a moment of attention—of pausing to look\, to listen\, and to record. Collectively\, these works form a tapestry of Pacific Northwest life—ephemeral\, wild\, and deeply interconnected. \nVisitors are invited to experience the exhibition at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center from April 10th through July 5th. DESCRIPTION:PORT ANGELES\, WA – On Saturday\, April 25th\, 2026 Clallam-Jefferson County Pro Bono Lawyers (CJCPBL) will host an in-person presentation aimed at helping people navigate landlord-tenant issues. This event will take place at Port Angeles Food Bank and The Market\, (632 N Oakridge Dr.\, Port Angeles) it’s free and open to the public but primarily focused on tenant rights. Attorney Ted Howard will discuss the recent changes in eviction laws and resources in Washington State. Once the presentations are complete\, participants will be able to ask questions and consult one on one with local volunteer attorneys on a first come first serve basis.\nThe program is open to the public and there is no charge for attendance. DESCRIPTION:Join us at Port Angeles Fine Arts Center for a unique evening of art\, music\, essay\, and poetry as we present\, “From Science to Action through Art: Four Artists Bear Witness to Climate Change.” Natalie Niblack\, an artist exhibiting the installation “66 Birds/ 3 Degree” in the Field Notes exhibition will present in partnership with fellow artists Northwest Poet Holly Hughes\, Canadian-American composer and performer Sarah Bassingwaighte\, and philosopher-essayist Kathleen Dean Moore. Together they will create a transformative evening that helps translate scientific understanding into words\, music\, and art that make the facts of climate change deeply real\, visceral and relatable. You will enjoy birdsong\, choral music and poems inspired by birds\, both living and extinct\, and moving essays accompanied by music bearing witness for all species threatened by climate change. \nLite bites will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase.

DESCRIPTION:It may seem like Spring will take forever to get here\, but it will indeed come! Get your mind\, body and green thumb ready for it by circling May 2nd on your calendar this year. Join us for the Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County Spring Plant Sale at Woodcock Demonstration Garden\, 2711 Woodcock Road in Sequim from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. then reopening from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. for our famous Half-price Sale. (The sale will close briefly from 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. in preparation for the Half-price Sale). \nWe’ll have a wide selection of everything you like to grow like veggie and tomato starts\, flowering perennials\, native plants\, ornamental grasses\, houseplants and much more. \nAll proceeds from the sale will help to maintain the 2.4-acre Woodcock Demonstration Garden and the Fifth Street Community Garden in Port Angeles. Funds from the plant sale will also support the numerous Master Gardener community services such as the Youth Enrichment Program (YEP) in our local schools\, as well as Green Thumb Education Series and Digging Deeper presentations. Cash\, checks and credit cards are accepted. Parking is available both in the west entrance lot and adjacent to Buttercup Lane. Inspired by the legacy of John James Audubon and rooted deeply in the unique ecology of this region\, the show brings together contemporary artists whose work responds to the presence of birds not only as subjects of beauty\, but as symbols of change\, migration\, resilience\, and interconnectedness. \nAt the heart of “Field Notes” is a tribute to the late Anne Goetzman’s lifelong devotion to birds and art. A meticulous observer and skilled painter\, Goetzman’s work bridges science and soul—rendering each feather and wing with both precision and wonder. Her influence echoes throughout this exhibition\, not only in her own featured works\, but in the ethos of attentiveness and care that guides the artists here. From detailed studies to expressive interpretations\, each piece in “Field Notes” represents a moment of attention—of pausing to look\, to listen\, and to record. Collectively\, these works form a tapestry of Pacific Northwest life—ephemeral\, wild\, and deeply interconnected. \nVisitors are invited to experience the exhibition at the Port Angeles Fine Arts Center from April 10th through July 5th. For one weekend only\, the Esther Webster Gallery will be filled with living beauty\, as floral masterpieces are displayed to complement the current exhibit\, Field Notes. Local floral designers will create arrangements inspired by the art in this exhibition and showcase their work alongside the art pieces they drew their inspiration from on Mother’s Day Weekend. \nDuring Art In Bloom\, PAFAC will also be offering a Flower Bar on Saturday\, May 9th from 11AM-5PM where anyone can purchase flowers for themselves\, their mother\, a mother in their life\, or anyone of their choosing. SUMMARY:Pet Loss Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Pet Loss Support Group \nPets are members of our family. They love us unconditionally and offer us comfort and companionship. When they die\, we grieve deeply. \nVolunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC) and Olympic Peninsula Humane Society (OPHS) are partnering to offer a monthly Pet Loss Support Group. The Support Group will meet the second Monday of every month from 3 to 4:30 pm at OPHS’s Kitty City at 91 S. Boyce Road in Sequim. \nThe VHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group will be facilitated by individuals knowledgeable of the special bond between humans and their pets and the grieving process. Meetings are open to any community member who has been affected by the loss of an animal. \nParticipants are invited to bring a memento of their pet – such as a photo\, collar\, or toy – to display during the Support Group meeting and will have the opportunity to share with others about their furry or feathered family members. Taking the time to grieve and talk about the loss of a pet helps many owners begin processing their grief and find coping strategies. \nVHOCC-OPHS Pet Loss Support Group meetings are drop-in.
