RV Fire Disrupts Traffic on Gasman Road and Old Olympic Highway

An RV erupted into flames at Gasman Road and Old Olympic Highway.

Fire District Three was called about 3:15 Wednesday afternoon. The RV had moved to Lemmon Road by the time responders arrived, where it was confirmed to be fully on fire.

An Olympic Ambulance unit was first on the scene, providing key updates. Engine 33 from Carlsborg station arrived shortly after and used a 1¾” handline to fight the blaze. The RV owner escaped safely but couldn’t rescue her cat.

A water tender brought an additional 3,000 gallons of water to help extinguish the fire. Traffic on Gasman Road was blocked due to the emergency response.

Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies coordinated the removal of the burned RV, and the Red Cross assisted the displaced owner with temporary housing.

Fire officials say the incident is a good reminder for owners to keep a fire extinguisher in their vehicles and to address any fires immediately while they’re still small.
