Sheriff Trading Old Guns For New

CLALLAM COUNTY – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is trading in their worn out 40-caliber Glock pistols for a fresh batch of Smith and Wesson nine millimeter handguns. Sheriff Bill Benedict presented his case to County Commissioners Monday and expects approval for an additional 9-thousand dollars over his 10-thousand dollar budget to make the purchase. He says Smith and Wesson made him a deal he couldn’t refuse:

Benedict says those Glocks have reached the end of their service life, and will be traded in to Smith and Wesson as part of the deal. As for stepping down from 40-caliber to 9-millimeter, he says there are some pretty good reasons to do so:
