PORT ANGELES – Two of the candidates for Clallam County commissioner told of their differences to a radio audience.
Incumbent commissioner Bill Peach and former commissioner and challenger Mike Doherty appeared for a forum on Newsradio KONP.
Peach told the audience he should be retained because he is a listener, and is willing to change his mind on issues based on what constituents tell him.
Doherty, who served in the position until four years ago and was also a commissioner from 1976-1979, says he feels he should be returned to the position because he can work with other government entities to secure money for programs.
The third candidate in the race, Dale Wilson, was invited to be part of the forum. He did not show up.
The three candidates are on the ballot for voters in west Port Angeles to the western portion of Clallam County. The top two vote getters will advance to the general election.
