A Washington state man convicted in a machete attack on his estranged wife and another man was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
52-year-old Eric Woody was sentenced Monday in Skagit County after pleading guilty to first-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault with a deadly weapon.
According to court documents, Woody had forced his way into a Bay View home in March 2017, attacking Rhonda Polinder and Michael Rash.
Polinder’s left hand was nearly severed from her arm, and she had a cut from the top of her head to her jawline. Doctors later amputated a portion of her left arm.
Rash had severe cuts to his head and arm.
