PA gets new city manager

PORT ANGELES – The city of Port Angeles has a new city manager.

Nathan West took over officially yesterday and Thursday was his first day solo.

Dan McKeen wrapped up 33 years of service with the city yesterday, retiring after six years as the city manager.

West, who has been with the city for more than a dozen years, says he’s been hoping for a chance to become city manager and is happy it is in Port Angeles.

McKeen had set up a succession plan years ago. It included West taking over as acting city manager. West was tabbed to become the next permanent city manager earlier this year after being vetted and spent the summer working with McKeen.
