Trailer stolen near Forks

FORKS – Someone stole a brand new travel trailer from a property on Highway 101 near Forks on Sunday morning, and Deputies have a witness to the crime.

The witness saw what they believed to be a 1989 or 1990 teal colored, two wheel drive, extended cab, Ford pickup back up to the trailer Sunday morning between 10:30 and 11:00. They say two men got out of the truck. One man was described as being an older heavy set white male and the other man was described as being a taller, dark haired man who may have been Native American.

The missing trailer is a 2018 Forest River Travel Trailer bearing a Washington license plate (72179AB), sixteen feet in length, valued at around $18,000. It’s white in color with a brown and red stripe, and the word Cascade is written on the front and side.

Deputies are quick to point out that a similar-style theft was reported on Wednesday, September 5 in which a mini Kubota excavator was towed away from a P.U.D. work site south of Forks. The excavator was later recovered on a logging road in Jefferson County.

The Sheriff’s Office is requesting any and all information regarding the recent thefts.
