Crab festival sets new records

PORT ANGELES – This year’s Crab and Seafood Festival over the weekend was a resounding success, bigger and better than ever. As expected, more crab was sold than ever before, just shy of 9 tons. The larger tent was at continuous capacity of 1000 people or more, and organizer Scott Nagel says Saturday’s sunshine made it a one-day record-breaker.

Nagel says that while Friday’s pounding rain made for a slow day for vendors out on the pier, most reported that the rest of weekend ultimately exceeded their sales expectations.
