PORT ANGELES – Unemployment rates ticked down last month in Clallam County.
According to state Employment Security Department figures, Clallam County had an overall unemployment rate in September of 5.3%. That’s down two tenths of a percent from August. It’s down almost a full percent from September 2017.
The data shows Clallam County added 130 jobs between August and September this year. The labor force also grew by about 150 people.
Jefferson County’s unemployment rate dipped below 5% for the first time in a decade. It’s now at 4.9%.
Statewide the unemployment rate for September was at 3.9%.
