PORT ANGELES – Tuesday evening at about 6:20 Port Angeles Police Officers responded to 1st and Penn Streets to a report that a man had jumped onto a car.
Officers found the man and learned that he had also tried to get into another car and take the keys while a customer waited at a drive through. The victim of the drive through incident did not wish to pursue charges. Nevertheless, Officers detained the suspect and transported him to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
About 6 hours later officers responded to a report that the suspect had been discharged from the hospital and was out front yelling and smashing his guitar. While officers were in the area trying to find the man, another call about the same man came in. This report was from a woman who was in her home while the man was throwing himself against the door trying to break in.
When officers arrived at the home they found the man, “naked and growling,” on the roof of the home.
He was arrested by Officer Morse (pictured) and booked into jail.
