Amber Alert issued in California for Vancouver child

VANCOUVER, WA – An Amber Alert was issued Saturday in California for a 4-year-old Vancouver, Washington girl who police believe was abducted by her non-custodial mother and were headed for Mexico.

Aranza Lopez has been in foster care since 2017, after being removed from her mother’s home. Authorities believe they may have already made it across the US/Mexico border.

The child was on a court-supervised visit Thursday with her mother, Esmeralda Lopez, when police say the two disappeared from a shopping mall in Vancouver.

And while details are still sketchy, Lopez is also implicated in another case from earlier in the week. A man claims she and three men tied him to a chair in an apartment and stole his car.

Lopez was last seen driving that car, a 2005 Chevy Cobalt with Washington plates “BLK 1552.”
