SEQUIM – A Sequim man has been sentenced to six and half years in prison and another three years community custody for attempted child molestation.
Andrew Worley was sentenced in Jefferson County Superior Court after pleading guilty to counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, attempted child molestation and commercial sexual abuse of a child.
Worley was arrested last March as part of State Patrol “Net Nanny” operation targeting adults locally looking to have sex with children.
Prosecutors say Worley responded to an ad placed as part of the sting that a “petite princess” was looking for a “daddy”. Worley left Sequim and arrived in Port Hadlock with $300.00 in his pocket that he intended to give to the children in exchange for sex. But Worley was instead met by armed law enforcement officers inside the home in Port Hadlock.
Prosecutors asked for the maximum sentence of nearly seven and a half years in prison in the case.
