Port Angeles School District has hired Kira Acker as Director of Finance and Operations. Acker will take the place of David Knechtel, who resigned his position as of December 31.

Acker most recently served as Director of Business Services for South Kitsap School District in Port Orchard. She already has roots here in Port Angeles. Her husband, Matt Acker, is the owner of the Lefties baseball team.

School Superintendent Marty Brewer told us why he thinks she’s a good fit.

Acker’s hiring was approved by the Board of Directors during the last Board meeting and she will be in-District beginning January 2.
