Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library selected as Finalist for National IMLS Award

BLYN – The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe has been nominated for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services on Monday announced that the Tribal Library in Blyn is among 30 finalists for the 2019 National Medal for Museum and Library Service.

The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries, recognizing innovative approaches to public service in their communities.

The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library is open to the public and specializes in materials by and about Native American Indians with a special focus on the Tribes of the Northwest Coast.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services is the primary source of federal support for the nation’s libraries and museums. National Medal winners will be announced later this spring.

In the meantime, IMLS is encouraging community members who have visited the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribal Library to share their story on social media, and we’ve attached those links to this story on our website at myclallamcounty.com.
