Sequim — Sequim Irrigation Festival officials say someone broke into a storage trailer at the Chamber of Commerce property on East Washington Street and stole the generator that powers the moving parts on the parade float. Bad timing, because the float is scheduled to appear tomorrow at the Tacoma Daffodil Parade.
Festival Director Deon Kapetan says the break-in appears to have happened last night, as the thieves left behind a flashlight, as well as some pretty annoying damage.
Kapetan says it’s the second break-in in 6 months for the festival. Last time it was their van. They’re looking now at getting improved lighting and possibly a security camera.
