SEATTLE – A federal judge has denied the request of the man known as the “Barefoot Bandit” to be taken off probation early.
Colton Harris-Moore, now 28, asked a judge to end his probation five months early so he could become a motivational speaker. He had argued it would help him pay off over million dollars he owes in restitution.
Harris-Moore was sentenced to seven years in prison back in 2012 for a series of crimes he committed, usually while barefoot, including 100 thefts in Washington, Idaho, and Canada. Investigators believe he stole cars and boats to get around.
He was captured after crash-landing a stolen plane in the Bahamas.
