PORT ANGELES – The search continues for a missing woman who disappeared after reportedly taking a personal flotation device out onto Lake Crescent Monday afternoon. A Kitsap County Dive Team joined in the search on Wednesday.
Officials from Olympic National Park sent out a news release late Tuesday saying they got a 911 call on Monday at 5:45 for 35-year-old Lena Lang of Federal Way. The Parks Service has not provided a description.
Park Rangers immediately searched by boat and, with the assistance of the U.S. Navy, conducted an aerial search looking for any signs of the missing woman. Rangers worked well into the night and resumed the search by boat at 6:00 am on Tuesday.
The National Park Service called in the Coast Guard on Tuesday to continue aerial observations. Park Service resources are being used for both water and land searches.
They’re asking anyone who visited the shores of Lake Crescent from Barnes Point to Fairholm on Monday, May 27 between the hours of noon and 6:00 pm and observed the use of a “white unicorn personal inflatable raft” to please call or text Olympic National Park immediately on the Investigative Tip Line (888)- 653-0009. You don’t have to tell them who you are, just tell them what you know.
