PORT ANGELES – The public is invited to Friday’s groundbreaking ceremony for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula at the site of the future clubhouse located on the corner of Lauridsen Boulevard and Francis Street in Port Angeles.
After three years of fundraising and grant writing, the organization and the Campaign Committee say they’ve reached 90% of their fundraising goal and are ready to begin the construction of a 16,500 square-foot facility.
Members of the board and committee will be on hand for the groundbreaking, as well as community partners, elected officials, major donors, parents, and Boys and Girls Club members.
Attendees of tomorrow’s event, which is free and open to the public, will be able to see the latest drawings and plans for the new facility. The celebration starts at 3:00 pm.
