SNOHOMISH, Wash. (AP) — Authorities used an armored vehicle to smash through a wall of a house in Snohomish to end an eight-hour standoff with an armed man.
The man locked himself inside the house Sunday after deputies responded to a report of a man shooting at his ex-girlfriend.
The Sheriff’s Office says the woman escaped the house uninjured.
A SWAT team fired tear gas and pepper balls into the home after negotiations failed.
Deputies later entered the home with a police dog after the BearCat armored vehicle broke through.
Authorities say the man was taken to a hospital for treatment of dog bites and other minor injuries.
The sheriff’s office says he will be arrested on suspicion of domestic violence assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
