New (in person) voter registration deadline is 8:PM on election day

PORT ANGELES – Not yet registered to vote in the upcoming election season? Well, now you have more time than ever to do so, thanks to new registration deadline provisions in Senate Bill 6021 that went into effect June 30.

Voters whose registrations are received by mail or online no later than 8 days before the election will be mailed a ballot.

That means for the Primary in August, you have until July 29 to get your mailed and online registrations into the Auditor’s Office.  After that, residents who register in-person have up to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.

The purpose of this Primary is to nominate the top two candidates from each contest for the General Election in November.

To complete your registration online, visit olvr.votewa.gov. You can also register (or update your current registration) by contacting Clallam County Elections at (360) 417-2221.

Ballots will be mailed on July 17.
