PORT ANGELES – The unemployment rate in Clallam County rose last month.
According to figures from the state Employment Security Department, unemployment was at seven percent in June. That’s up almost one full percent from May.
The rise came as the area shed about 100 jobs while the eligible labor force grew by about three hundred people.
Jefferson County’s unemployment rate rose by about half a percent to 6.3 percent.
Statewide, the unemployment rate is at 4.4 percent.
