Clallam primary ballot return tops 16 percent

PORT ANGELES – About 16 percent of the ballots are back countywide for next week’s primary election.

According to the Clallam County auditor’s office, just over 82 hundred of the nearly 51-thousand ballots sent out have been returned.

Voters are narrowing races for city council in Port Angeles as well as OMC’s Hospital District and Fire District Two commissioner races.

Voters in the east end of the county will also vote on two candidates for county commissioner, however both those candidates will advance to the general election.

Voters have until next Tuesday to get ballots postmarked or in an official return box to be valid. This year, return postage is paid for all ballots.
