COLFAX, Wash. (AP) — A 31-year-old woman has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing a 55-year-old northern Idaho man.
Ashley Myers was sentenced Friday in Whitman County District Court after pleading guilty to second-degree murder.
Myers is a transient who was arrested in September after police found Kenneth Allen of Coeur d’Alene dead in a vehicle Myers was driving.
Court records say deputies responded to the scene Sept. 28 and found Myers holding a baseball bat and saying she had shot a man. Officers later found Allen’s body in a nearby vehicle.
Myers told officers she shot Allen because he “murdered her daughter yesterday”, but officials testified that Myers’ daughter was safe and living with a relative.
