PORT ANGELES – Today is primary election day. You must have ballots back in an official ballot return box or postmarked by today to be valid. This year, return postage is paid for all ballots
Through Monday, just under 19% of the ballots in Clallam County had been returned for counting.
According to the Clallam County auditor’s office, just over 9,650 of the nearly 51-thousand ballots sent out have been returned.
Voters are narrowing races for city council in Port Angeles as well as OMC’s Hospital District and Fire District Two commissioner races.
Voters in the east end of the county will also vote on two candidates for county commissioner, however both those candidates will advance to the general election.
This year, return postage is paid for all ballots. Local elections officials plan to release a first count of the ballots shortly after eight tonight.
