Ozias, Henninger, McCaughan, and Hoff winners in local primary elections

PORT ANGELES – Ann Marie Henninger easily won yesterday’s primary for a seat on the Olympic Medical Center board.

Henninger received nearly 60 percent of the vote. It appears she’ll face Nate Adkisson in the general election. He came in second, about 33 hundred votes behind Henninger.

Charlie McCaughan has won the primary for a seat on the Port Angeles city council, receiving about half the vote. Doc Robinson came in second with just under 28 percent.

In the primary for another seat on the PA council, Martha Cunningham received 40 percent of the vote. Brendon Meyer finished second with 30 percent, barely edging out Tara Martin Lopez who dropped out of the race.

Longtime incumbent Clallam Fire District Two commissioner Richard Ruud has been ousted in the primary. Former fire chief Steve Hoff easily won yesterday with 62 percent of the vote. Keith Cortner finished second with 24 percent. Ruud got about 13 percent.

And in a “beauty contest” for Clallam County commissioner since both candidates will advance to the general election, incumbent Democrat Mark Ozias bested Republican Brandon Janisse. Ozias received just under 15 hundred more votes in the race to represent the east end of the county.
