YAKIMA, Wash. – Officials in Yakima County are warning the public about a type of pill with a deadly dose of fentanyl that has already killed several people there.
The Yakima County Coroner and local law enforcement agencies say they have investigated numerous deaths associated with the small blue pill, which is similar in appearance to Oxycontin.
In a prepared statement, the Yakima County Coroner’s Office said “We believe the pill to be counterfeit. It is round and about the same diameter as an ibuprofen, but half of the thickness, with the number 33 on it.”
A sample of the pills have been sent to the Washington State Patrol crime lab for further analysis.
