PORT ANGELES – Longtime emergency management planner for Clallam County, Jamye Wisecup, has died unexpectedly.

Wisecup was doing a presentation to the Sequim Chamber of Commerce Tuesday, when she collapsed during her talk.

Clallam County sheriff’s employees, who were with her for the talk,  administered CPR at the scene. Wisecup was transported to a Seattle hospital where she died last night.

Undersheriff Ron Cameron broke the news to county staff in an email this morning. He wrote: “Jamye was a bright light anywhere she went and so important to our department.  But, while time and experience can replace the void created by this loss in Clallam County Emergency Management, nothing will make up for the personality and happiness she shared with us and communities across the county.”

In addition to her work with emergency management, Wisecup served on numerous local non-profit boards and was known as very active in many community activities.
