Trouble continues at supportive housing facility slated for closure

PORT ANGELES – More trouble in the final days of supportive housing facility Tempest House in Port Angeles, which is slated to close at the end of the month.

Wednesday morning detectives with OPNET served a search warrant at the apartment of 37-year-old Teri Gelseth, the result of a months-long investigation that included a confidential informant purchasing meth from the suspect.

Gelseth was arrested at the apartment for two counts of delivery of a controlled substance, a small amount of the narcotic and drug paraphernalia were confiscated, and she was booked into the Clallam County Jail.

Doc Robinson, Executive Director Serenity House of Clallam County, announced in July he was permanently closing Tempest House, located on First and Albert Streets, at the end of September because of ongoing problems with damage and illegal activity on the premises. On Tuesday of this week, 50-year-old John Hann was found guilty of arson for a fire he set on the second floor of the building.

Most of Tempest House’s residents struggle with chronic mental health issues, and many are being placed elsewhere.
