MONROE, Wash. (AP) — A Washington state man has died after falling off a waterfall in Snohomish County.
26-year-old Michael Guzman of Monroe slipped and fell over Cedar Ponds waterfall on Saturday.
Snohomish County deputies say Guzman was with a second person when they both ended up in the water.
Authorities say the other person was able to swim to safety, but Guzman had suffered a severe head injury and was unconscious.
Authorities say Guzman was pulled from the water about an hour later and rushed to a hospital in Monroe. He later died from his injuries.
County authorities say this is the third drowning death at these falls in the last year.
