PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man is in custody after leading police on a high speed chase.
It started late Tuesday afternoon, as Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives were observing 30-year-old Chris Michael White near the east side Safeway. White had a warrant for his arrest and was believed to be armed and dangerous.
As police moved in, White took off in a pickup truck. He led officers on a high-speed chase into Port Angeles, smashing into several other cars along the way.
White was arrested trying to enter an apartment at Front and Liberty streets. A female passenger from White’s truck was also detained at the scene.
Officers and detectives are still investigating and are asking any motorists hit during the chase, that have not yet been contacted by police, to call law enforcement.
