KENNEWICK, Wash. – Police say a 72-year-old Spokane man who claimed he was a CIA agent led officers on a high-speed chase through a residential area before crashing in Kennewick.
KOMO News reports the drama unfolded at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the man walked into a Kennewick fire station and told a firefighter that he was with the CIA and he was investigating him.
The man then got into what appears to be a stolen car, and firefighters witnessed him speeding off northbound on Columbia Center Boulevard.
Police say the man led officers on a chase that weaved through several residential streets before he crashed his car into a residential fence and was arrested.
No one was injured in the crash. Police believe the 72-year-old suspect could be suffering from a mental health episode.
