Clallam ballot returns at 6.9%

PORT ANGELES – Voter turnout is just under seven percent so far for this fall’s general election.

Clallam County auditor Shoona Riggs says through yesterday, about 3,700 ballots had been returned to her office for counting.

53,791 ballots were mailed out last week.

Voters are choosing a number of local races including city council, school board, port, fire district and hospital district commission seats.

East-end county commissioner is also on the ballot for voters in that district.

Fire District Three and Four voters are begin asked to approve a levy measures for funding in those districts.

Ballots must be postmarked or returned to an official drop box by November 5th to be valid. Return postage is paid.
