PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles Fire Department responded to an injury accident aboard a log ship at the port today.
Lt. Bryant Croh says the call came in just before noon.
“The patient was working up on the upper level of the ship was injured by a chain binder that had come loose. She was conscious the entire time and we transported her and stable condition to the ER for further evaluation.”
Croh says responders brought along their ladder truck to get the injured woman off the upper deck, but instead decided to employ the crane on hand that’s usually used for loading ships, since it was handy and already had a basket for carrying personnel.
