Seattle Mariners fans that have been around a while will remember longtime broadcaster Ron Fairly, who passed away this week.
Fairly was a pro baseball player himself for 21 years, much of that time with the Los Angeles Dodgers as both an infielder and outfielder. He was a two-time All-Star and played in four World Series before joining Seattle’s broadcast team in 1993.
Fairly spent 14 seasons with the Mariners as an analyst and play-by-play voice, retiring from full-time announcing in 2006, but he still dropped by the booth from time to time until 2011.
Ron Fairly, dead at the age of 81.
