PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Police Department has released updated information in the curious case of Joshua Simiskey.
Simiskey has been officially listed as a missing person since last month. Until recently had not been seen since a Ranger gave him a courtesy ride and dropped him off in the Shadow Mountain area of Olympic National Park. That was on October 7. At the time, Simiskey was barefoot and refused any further assistance from the Ranger.
Now comes the news that Simiskey had apparently been seen recently at a restaurant in Sequim. Police say a citizen reported that she had spoken with Simiskey at the restaurant and asked him about being a missing person. The woman told police that he confirmed his identity but stated that he did not want contact with anyone.
Officers followed up with employees at the restaurant, who were reasonably certain that the male in the restaurant was Simiskey.
Police say that because they themselves have not had any contact with Simiskey, he remains listed as a missing person until law enforcement can ensure that he is safe.
They are urging Simiskey to call them so they can confirm he’s safe and clear him out as a missing person.
