BOSTON (AP) A former Issaquah High School graduate who is accused of urging her boyfriend to commit suicide just hours before he was set to graduate from Boston College, was arraigned in Boston Friday.
21-year-old Inyoung You appeared in Suffolk County Superior Court after returning to the U.S. from South Korea, where she has been since the charges were announced in October.
She was taken into custody in handcuffs after the judge set her bail at $5,000, which her lawyer said she would pay immediately. You, who was born in South Korea and is a naturalized U.S. citizen, was also ordered to surrender her passport.
Her trial date was set for November 2020.
Police said the breaking point in the alleged abuse case came when You tracked boyfriend Alexander Urtula’s phone to a parking garage and that she was present when he jumped to his death on May 20.
