PORT ANGELES – Congratulations to students and staff at Hamilton Elementary School in the Port Angeles School District. They were recently selected for the 2019 National ESEA Distinguished School Award for closing the achievement gap between student groups.
Eligibility for the award is based on a three-year average score on a nationwide metric called the Smarter Balanced Assessment. It measures proficiencies and improvements for the school years ending in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
Hamilton representatives will be attending the 2020 National ESEA Conference in Atlanta, Georgia in February.
