Woman arrested for shooting boyfriend

SEQUIM – A Sequim woman was arrested after allegedly shooting her boyfriend New Year’s Eve.

About 10 pm, Clallam County deputies responded to a residence east of Sequim for a domestic situation where a firearm had been used and a male was possibly shot in the leg.

When they arrived, deputies found a man in the driveway. He said his girlfriend had shot him in the right ankle.

The girlfriend, 57-year-old Wendy Gloor, was inside the residence. Deputies say she told them the two had been arguing all day and she didn’t want him at her residence. She says she asked him to leave, but felt threatened. That’s when she pointed her .22 caliber Derringer revolver at the ground near her boyfriend’s feet and pulled the trigger. Gloor said she was trying to shoot into the floor and wasn’t trying to shoot her boyfriend.

Deputies recovered the revolver from a hidden position near where it had been fired.

Gloor was arrested for first degree assault domestic violence.
