PORT ANGELES – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office has just dispatched its third Chain Gang operation, significant because it’s the county’s first all-female crew.
The new crew has been funded by a grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, and will be used exclusively for cleaning up litter and illegal dumpsites in Clallam County.
Headed up by Deputy Ella Mildon, they’ll focus on county roads and highways.
If you know of an area of litter or an illegal dumpsite in the county, they ask that you contact the Sheriff’s Office.
