PORT ANGELES – An RV fire on Old Deer Park Road near Port Angeles has left someone without a home as Clallam 2 Fire Rescue reports the vehicle as a total loss on Tuesday.
Fire crews were called about 4:30 pm to find the RV, which was being used as a residence, fully engulfed in flames.
They arrived to find the owner attempting to move vehicles away from the RV.
The occupant, who escaped uninjured, was placed in contact with Red Cross to arrange temporary housing.
A preliminary investigation indicates the fire most likely started due to a portable heater being placed too close to combustible materials.
