YOKOHAMA, Japan – An Oregon woman quarantined on a cruise ship has been diagnosed with the coronavirus, her husband tells KATU News.
Rebecca Frasure, of Forest Grove, Ore., is on the Diamond Princess with her husband, Kent. They found themselves quarantined on the Diamond Princess after some passengers tested positive for the potentially deadly virus.
On Friday morning, the 35-year-old found out she had tested positive for Wuhan coronavirus and had to leave the ship immediately. Her husband, 42, tested negative and will remain on board.
The Diamond Princess has been quarantined off the coast of Yokohama, near Tokyo, since Tuesday, after a former passenger tested positive for the coronavirus.
There are more than 3,700 people on board, including 2,600 passengers, of whom 428 are American. So far, 61 passengers have tested positive for the virus, and the quarantine is expected to last until at least February 19.
