BLYN – Authorities suspect murder in the death of a woman whose body was found in Blyn.
Clallam County Sheriff’s Detectives and allied agencies continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Friday’s discovery of the unidentified deceased female in the Olympic National Forest’s Buckhorn Wilderness. The body was discovered off of an arterial to Forest Service Rd 28 south of Blyn.
Sgt. John Hollis says Clallam County Search and Rescue is currently conducting a broad evidence search in the area where the body was discovered.
He says Saturday evening detectives, assisted by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Response Team, completed evidence collection and processing of the scene.
The Clallam County Prosecutor’s Office assumed jurisdiction over the body and an autopsy to determined cause and manner of death is pending.
Hollis says detectives believe the victim succumbed to injuries as a result of homicidal violence. Investigators do not believe there is any danger to the public at this time.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations is assisting due to the discovery of the decedent occurring on federal forest land.
