PORT ANGELES – Congratulations to the Port Angeles Roughrider girl’s basketball team for an amazing season. The team finished with a record of 20 wins and 7 losses and made a good showing at the State tournament. In fact, 4 of those 7 losses were to teams that received trophies at the state tournament in Yakima.
Along the way, the Riders won their third straight Olympic League championship in a row and their second West Central District title in a row. In their final game at state against second-ranked Ellensburg, the Riders fell behind 24-11 at the half, then rallied back to take the lead in the second period, only to lose 52-46.
The team will return 11 of the 12 who played in the state tournament, next year.
