VANCOUVER, Wash. KATU News reports the new hit series on Netflix called “Tiger King” is getting a lot of attention from one man in Southwest Washington state.

The true crime documentary series is centered around a zoo owner and tiger lover named Joe Exotic. During the course of the show, Joe claims to be a talented singer, referencing CDs he sells in the zoo gift shop. The show also features clips from Exotic’s music videos.

But Preston Clinton, who lives in Brush Prairie, Washington, says his dad was the one who actually wrote and performed those songs.

He says the singer-song writer went by Danny C., he lived in Vancouver, Wash. and was a member of the Clinton Johnson Band. It wasn’t until Clinton watched “Tiger King” that he realized Joe Exotic was taking credit for his dad’s music, who he says passed away in October of last year.

Clinton says his dad wrote the lyrics and recorded the song “I Saw A Tiger”, featured in the show.

He wants people to give his father credit for that music and recognize that he was a very talented singer-songwriter.
