PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles man has admitted to using a sling shot to break windows at 4 local businesses.
Police arrested 28-year-old Ricky Nebert Thursday, April 2 and charged him Malicious Mischief after officer TJ Mueller obtained video surveillance footage that appears to show Nebert shooting a window of the Golden Nails Salon in the KONP Building on First Street.
Other businesses that reported broken windows are First Street Chiropractic, Texaco gas station and Jack in the Box restaurant, all within a few blocks of one another. Two of the businesses had green marbles on the floor that were taken into evidence.
Officer Cameron located Nebert on Thursday at Jessie Webster Park, where he was arrested and later interviewed. It was during the interview that Nebert admitted to breaking the windows, citing stress as his reason for doing so.
A sling shot and marbles were found in a search of his backpack.
