OLYMPIA – Gov. Inslee announced this afternoon that the current school closure will remain in effect through the rest of the school year.
Inslee said the difficult decision was made to ensure the health of our students and the community at large.
He said that High School seniors in good standing will graduate. He added that for all students, their grades will not suffer as a result of the closure, but he also encouraged them to embrace learning during this time of Distance Learning at home.
Inslee said his staff is exploring options for being able to hold graduation ceremonies later in the year, and would wait and see how things play out in terms of the spread and endurance of the outbreak.
