DISCOVERY BAY – A crash involving a car running from State Patrol Troopers shut down Highway 101 for hours Thursday morning.
Troopers say just before seven AM, the driver of a Nissan sped past a fully-marked patrol vehicle south of Sequim. The pursuit continued to Discovery Bay, where the driver lost control and struck a northbound semi truck.
No one was hurt in the crash. The fleeing driver, 25-year-old Lacey Smith of Lakewood, WA was taken into custody for felony eluding. The crash and investigation closed the highway for more than two hours.
