Forks man arrested in weekend knife attack

Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to Forks Community Hospital at about 3:00am Saturday to speak with two twenty-one-year-old men who had been assaulted with a knife.

During the initial investigation deputies learned the two victims had been at a residence on Shuwah Road in Forks Friday night. They say they were sitting around a campfire and drinking beer at the home of 42-year-old Manning Roberts. The two young men left the house and went to a residence in the Forks area because they felt Roberts was being rude.

During the early morning hours of Saturday Roberts illegally entered the house where the two men were staying. Roberts allegedly stabbed one of the men in the chest with a knife and the other man was cut during an altercation with Roberts.

Deputies contacted Manning Roberts at his home during the early morning hours of Saturday and arrested him. Roberts was booked into the Clallam County Jail on two counts of assault and one count of burglary.

The circumstances surrounding the assault are still under investigation by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
