As most 4th of July celebrations fizzle, PA Fireworks Show remains intact

Port Angeles – The Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce has confirmed there will be a community fireworks show over Port Angeles Harbor on the Fourth of July, though the usual activities involving large gatherings have been cancelled because of Covid-19 restrictions.

Leading up to the fireworks show, which will begin at 10:15pm, KONP’s house band Black Diamond Junction will perform a virtual concert that will be livestreamed over the Internet. The band will kick things off at 8:00pm and will be emceed by local standup comedian, Sam Grello.

After the concert, the fireworks will be visible from many points around town, but if you can’t see it from where you are, they’ll livestream the show accompanied by special musical programming on KONP radio.

Something new added this year to reflect the times is a “Heroes Appreciation Wall”, which will be located in front of the Lincoln Theater downtown throughout the 4th of July weekend. The Chamber is setting it up as a way for community members to express their thanks to anyone or any organization that made a positive difference in their lives through this difficult time of Covid-19.

Funding for the fireworks show is provided by WAVE Broadband and Kitsap Bank.
