PORT ANGELES — A Port Angeles man died in a motorcycle accident west of Lake Crescent Sunday morning.
It happened shortly after five AM, when the motorcyclist encountered a deer in the roadway of Highway 101 near the Sol Duc River.
According to the State Patrol, the motorcycle was westbound when it collided with the deer standing in the road. The 62-year-old driver was thrown from the motorcycle. He was wearing a helmet, and declared dead at the scene.
The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
